Decorated to each side with a central panel
depicting a monk molesting a young woman
in a European style landscape, alternating
with panels of birds in flowering gardens and
smaller floral roundels on a gilt decorated
ground, the interior with a bamboo border.

Finely painted to the exterior in vibrant famille
rose enamels with a continuous garden party
scene, with ladies gathered to play chess
to one side, the gentlemen at the opposite
side eating sweetmeats and drinking by
another table, one of the attendants drinking
wine from the ewer directly, the interior
with flowers and fruits to the centre and a
spearhead pattern at the rim. 38cm (15in)
diam.

bianco design; a dish with a central scene of
European merchants and gilt border; and a
pair of plates with panels of alternating putti.
