The first, in the Meissen-style of lobed form
with applied gilt and famille rose designs;
the second, decorated in underglaze blue
and famille rose with idyllic landscapes. The
largest tureen, 32.5cm (12 3/4in) wide (6).

AND A ‘TWIN PEACOCK’ STAND
Qianlong
The tankard thickly potted, with rounded
sides rising from a splayed foot, decorated
in famille rose enamels, iron red and gilt
with leafy peonies and pomegranates;
the hexagonal stand with twin peacocks
standing on craggy rocks amidst leafy large-
headed peonies and other flowers, the edge
with a floral border.
The tankard: 14.4cm (5 5 5/in) high, the
stand: 27.5cm (10 5/8in) wide (2).

Second half of the 18th century
The first decorated in famille rose and grisaille
with the arms of Barwell, a unicorn raised
above the motto ‘Virtute Fideque’, the tureen
with boar head handles; the second with blue
enamelled and gilt pomegranate festoons
and oval cartouches, with acorn finial and
boar-head handles. The largest tureen: 33cm
(13in) wide (4).
