         A VERY RARE DING VASE
         NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)
         The vase is potted with a slightly compressed
         globular body between a pair of raised flanges
         rising from a recessed foot to a ribbed mouth. It
         is covered overall with a clear ivory-white glaze
         of even tone, with the exception of the unglazed
         foot exposing the white biscuit body.

         PROVENANCE
         An important Hong Kong family collection,
         acquired in the 1970s
         A Guan flower vase dated to the Southern Song
         dynasty of similar form, also decorated with
         raised flanges around the body is illustrated in
         Precious as the Morning Star: 12th-14th Century
         Celadons in the Qing Court Collection, National
         Palace Museum, Taipei, 2016, p. 162. A Yaozhou
         flower vase of similar rounded form is illustrated
         in Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka,
         Yoshuyo/The Masterpieces of Yaozhou Ware,
         Osaka, 1997, p. 57





         北宋   定窯白瓷花插
         來源
         重要香港家族珍藏,入藏於1970年代
         此花插外型奇特十分罕見,在巳發表的定窯資料中
         暫時只見此例,其白釉微泛藍光應為北宋早期定州
         所製。
         與其外形近似的例子,可參考台北故宮博物院藏南宋
         官窯三弦紋青瓷花插,其圓筒外形及器身上的三道弦
         紋與此花插十分相似,或有承先啓後的關係,見於
         《貴似晨星:清宮傳世12至14世紀青瓷特展》,
         台北,2016年,頁162。

         另一北宋青瓷筒形花插,其外形及比例與此花插
         亦很類似,見於大阪市立東洋陶磁美術館編《中国
         中原に華ひらいた名窯-耀州窯展》,大阪,1998
         年,頁57。
