                                                                                                                       the representation of Amsterdam was the
                                                                                                                       development of the decoration programme
                                                                                                                       for the Town Hall. The tympanum on the
                                                                                                                       back of the Town Hall embodies this theme,
                                                                                                                       and here we see the maiden in the centre
