oviform with everted necks with two oval panels depicting
peony sprays and two further panels of irises in swirling
waters, all between bands of archaic motifs in hirazogan,
chiseled and stippled, incised in gilt, silver and other coloured
patination, the shoulders applied with archaic form handles of
mythical birds, Imperial mon to the neck, each signed on base
with Dai Nihon Teikoku Ishikawa ken Kanazawa Doki kaisha
sei [Made by the Kanazawa Bronze Company of Ishikawa
prefecture in Great Imperial Japan]
