China, Qing Dynasty 19th/20th century
The eight-armed deity seated in dhyanasana atop a double lotus
throne, one hand raising a Buddha figure, the other seven in mudra
and with eyes, wearing a long robe with floral hems and ribbon
tassels, with three faces, each with five-pointed crowns, base

A GILT COPPER-ALLOY FIGURE OF VAJRAPANI
Tibet, 19th century
The figure modelled striding in asana over prostrate demons, wearing
a tiger-skin dhoti with serpents about the arms and legs, the hands
cradling a vajra and ghanta, the ferocious face flanked with large
earring and crowned with a five-pointed tiara, all raised on a lotus
plinth with a flaming mandorla, unsealed base. 14cm (5 1/2in) high

The stone face of the deity sensitively carved with downcast eyes
below fine arching eyebrows, with a central urna, the small mouth
