Lund : When and what made you decide for many fabulous projects so deciding the awards
Governorship ? was a herculean task.
Rajasekhar : It was not an overnight decision.
It evolved over a few years. After being Asst. Amritha : Where there any situations you wished
Governor and Dist. Director, I started thinking could have been better ?
of taking up the responsibility of the Dist. Rajasekhar : Due to Covid many programs had to
Governor. The encouragement and motivation of be rescheduled and wished there had been better
various Clubs and senior Rotarians of the district attendance at certain events. But the biggest
was very instrumental in making me sure of my disappointment was missing out of the unique
decision. experience of attending GETS – the opportunity

Lund : What change you wanted to
        bring ?
Rajasekhar : Taking Rotary to the
Rotarians – Involvement of all the
members. Only when a person is
involved, will their interest be kindled
        and convert to participation with
        commitment. Also wanted to evolve
a basic structure with a proper system
on how a Rotary Club should function.
When a solid system is formatted,
any Rotarian taking the mantle of
leadership of the Club will find it easy
to function and I think I was successful
        to a extent.

Amritha : How did you deal with
situations that did not go as planned ?

Rajasekhar : Luckily, I did not face any such to have met my fellow Governors from across
situations. In fact it was the other way round – the world, as this can be experienced only once
Whenever or wherever I expected some hurdles, in a lifetime. (At least in our country, where a
it was totally smooth sailing. Going with an open Governor never gets a second innings)
mind and no preconceived thoughts of anything
or anybody was my secret tool ! Amritha : Did Governorship change you in any
                                                              way ?

Lund: What was the most difficult part of your Rajasekhar : Yes ! Have become a better listener!
tenure ? Listening to others brought a feeling of
Rajasekhar : AWARDS- Most of the Clubs had respect, connection and goodwill. By listening
worked very hard in envisaging and executing nonjudgmentally, I got new points of views, new
