“When we were first tasked this assignment, I was not looking forward to working on it since
I knew that my Year 1 Semester 1 folly design had a lot of circular shapes, and being that I
had zero experience with AutoCAD, it felt overwhelming. I used AutoCAD once or twice
when last semester when I transferred drawings from my Sketchup exports to plot and print
using AutoCAD. But I never had any experience directly drafting on the software, and I did
not know where to begin. After scanning my images, I looked up tutorials of AutoCAD
tracing online, and although it wasn’t the most satisfactory outcome, I was relieved I
gained at least the most basic understanding of the software. It makes me look forward to
trying other softwares that will help a lot with studiowork as well as later on in our careers,
such as Revit, and other drafting or digital modeling tools.”
