Nickname: Jas Q1. Why did you initially want to study architecture?
Age: 21 A. Well, because I grew up in a typical Asian household where parents expect you to be a
Hometown: Melaka, Malaysia doctor but you refuse to because you’re a rebellious child who loves to scribble your
imagination onto papers, so choosing architecture which is like a mixture of Science and
Art is considered an acceptable profession to them. People say follow your dreams but
Skills: reality tells you otherwise. However all in all, I love any sort of art, I do enjoy expressing my
thoughts and ideas through spaces and buildings.

Q2. Who inspires you?
A. In terms of architecture, I would say no one. I came across this course online and I
Model Making 6/10 gathered more information about it from my school counselor. But recently the idea of
architects being able to create new homes for happy families actually fascinates me. In
terms of life, that would be my parents. Even without higher education, they still can be
Photoshop 8/10 successful in life by working hard, all started from scratch.
Q3. Besides architecture, what else would you like to pursue?
Revit 7/10 A. Illustration, Digital animation, gaming and music. I also like to perform on stage, like with a
group of people instead of individually, maybe work as a singer in an acapella group or
an orchestra player as a job. Being an illustrator is also one of my childhood dreams.
Q4. What life lesson have you learnt from your first year of architecture studio?
A. In this field , working hard will get you somewhere but not necessarily success. The crucial
takeaway is to still work hard, work smart but also stay true to yourself, accept rejection
and accept changes. Finding a hobby is also important as it provides you something to
look forward to and is definitely a stress reliever. Not forget to take care of your mental
health.
Q5. What message do you have for someone interested in studying architecture?
A. If you think that you are so good at staying up late, architecture proves you wrong. If you
take architecture just because you love and good at drawing, you might end up suffering 8
because architecture is more than just drawing.
