The ants go marching seven by seven
Hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching seven by seven
Hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching seven by seven
The little one stops to pray to heaven
And they all go marching down to the ground to get out of the rain
Boom boom boom
The ants go marching eight by eight
Hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching eight by eight
Hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching eight by eight
The little one stops to roller skate
And they all go marching down to the ground to get out of the rain
Boom boom boom
The ants go marching nine by nine
Hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching nine by nine
Hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching nine by nine
The little one stops to check the time
And they all go marching down to the ground to get out of the rain
Boom boom boom
The ants go marching ten by ten
Hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching ten by ten
Hurrah, hurrah
The ants go marching ten by ten
The little one stops to shout, “The End!”
It was the dead of night and I had a 10x12 tarp covering three sides tied over a tree to protect temporarily from rain and
wind in case it came. I was exhausted after arriving at night on the north side of the island and realized I could not camp
there. Paddling along the coast I took the first sand bar I could negotiate in the dark and had tied off kayak as well as
adjusted gear and tossed much of it to shore.
Lying under my temp shelter I grabbed a couple of handfuls of honey nut cheerios then decided to simply pass out as
tired as I was and the sand on the shore was fine with a tarp over and my blanket. I rolled shut the cheerios bag and
tossed it aside.
Don’t know what time it was but the dream I had I was again eating cheerios when the wind woke me and as I did I felt
rain on my face sprinkling and seemed to be getting wet all over. My bare arm hairs kept registering rain and as I sat up
even my face felt it………….till the rain started crawling…….
I grabbed my glasses and my headlamp and flipped it on.
ANTS.
My legs, my arms, my face, my skin crawling now I was covered in tiny black ants that made me jump out my skin and
do a rain dance shaking and slapping the ants off me. I was aghast and abhorred and moved like the FLASH.
