MATERI

A news item is a text which informs readers or listeners about events of the day. The events
are considered newsworthy or important.

A news item text consists of these parts:

• Headline : the tittle of the news,
• Summary of events : the elaboration of what happened, to whom and in what
circumstance,
• Quotes : the exact words that people have said or written in the news.
