warranty, even if you buy it new from an online store. Accessories or the manual may be
missing. The software may be copied or counterfeit. Just always ensure it is not a grey
market camera. Check on their return policy.

               Buying New

There are a lot of reputable places to purchase your new camera. I have
used Amazon.com and B&H Photo as both have deals often and are easy to order from
or even return if needed. Some larger retail stores also have DSLR’s but not usually as
much to choose from as on online. You can choose to buy just the camera body and
select the lens you want or buy the camera and lens together which usually adds to
some savings. While online you can read reviews, ask questions, or find the owner’s
manual to read. This would be my preferred option rather than buying used. Again, avoid
any gray market cameras as they are often sold new.

               Conclusion

Choosing a camera is never an easy choice. Trying to narrow these choices can help
you find the right camera and get you started in your pursuit of learning photography.
Remember, expensive is not always better. It is you, the knowledge of the person behind
the lens that is creating the photograph, not the camera.
