Metadata Formats
This information tells a MARC parser how to extract the 245 field data from
the MARC record.
So, if we look at this record broken into a text view (figure 6.2), we can
see how a MARC parser treats this information. In figure 6.2, we see the
same record as in figure 6.1, only in this case, a MARC parser has read the
leader and directory and has extracted the MARC data into a more visually
friendly format.
