   03.2 Stage 2: McKee Park Establishment, Green (2D), Blue Descent (7A) (2023)

The development of McKee Park is the key entrance to the trail network and will be a passive sign post to other out-
door enthusiasts visiting Piano Flat: “Mountain Biking is here”. The entrance to McKee park has been placed directly
opposite the Waikaia bridge. Although we are showcasing this area first, this should be investigated by the builder
at the start and then completed last. Completing this section first could bring unwanted attention to the network,
putting the trails at risk of damage before they are ready to be ridden.
We have included a counter from Be Countered. Collecting real data on user numbers can be invaluable for funding
requests/ justification, planning maintenance and receiving real time feed back on marketing campaigns and the
response to new trails. The counter priced for can record data such walker vs rider, user direction, time of day and is
all collected via an easy to use app.

NOTE: A license to occupy/lease will need to be formalised with SDC facilities management for the use of McKee
Park. An initial communication has revealed this should be achievable, however further detail will need to included
     to formalise the agreement.
