among the various ethnic groups fighting in South Sudan. The state in South Sudan is therefore
          considered as failed and not having the basic ingredients of undertaking the traditional role of
          the state. Cabral’s theory of national liberation and the extent to which the SPLM has conducted

          the affairs of the state serves only to underscore the view that liberation movements tend to fail
          in national reconstruction and social transformation as hypothesized by Melber and theorized by
