Both carers to take hold of folded down corner with inside hand and walk down the bed on the instruction – ready, steady, walk. Two hands can be used if difficult.
Both sheets should be removed together but make sure the corners of the slide sheet are underneath themselves so there is no shearing of client’s skin.

Always make sure the bed is at a good working height
Start by sliding hand and arm underneath natural gap in client’s body e.g. neck and reach for the bottom slide sheet on the far side
Pull slide sheet in a downward direction towards the client’s pelvic area
Slide hand and arm underneath client’s natural gap e.g. ankles and reach for the bottom slide sheet on the far side
Pull slide sheet in a upwards direction towards pelvic area Gently pull any excess slide sheet until it is removed
