I started to become overweight when I hit around the age of 12 / 13, and although I had a great childhood, hurtful comments always followed me around. Throughout school I was always made fun of and I was always self-conscious of my body. It made me feel isolated, shy and intimidated. Although I tried every diet around, I initially lost weight, but then put it back on again. This was the story of my life really. Low self esteem, diet following diet, failure, even lower self esteem! Fast forward to 2017.
After having my son in 2011, I REALLY let myself go. I was shocked when I stood on the scale to see 19 st staring back at me! I had to do something, but I didn’t know what. Again, another year or so of yoyo dieting flowed, and a feeling of desperation. It was purely by chance that I met Sarah through my next door neighbour as she was having some beauty treatments done by Sarah. I booked in with her for some treatments to cheer myself up and I think it was meant to be! From that moment on we became friends, she helped me with my self esteem, she encouraged me when I was down, we tried many different ways of eating together, embracing some and ditching others, and she encouraged me to go out to fitness classes with her!
This was way before the ‘Health Fairy’ was born, but even then she was supporting and guiding and encouraging! Finally I was beginning to accept who I was, learning to love myself, and grow a determination
I never had before. I was losing weight and feeling good for the first time in a long time! Then the first Coronavirus lockdown hit, and the stress eating began. Sarah set up her support group and suggested I try the Saxenda Pen to help with cravings and hunger control. This worked brilliantly for me and I lost weight quickly.
I stayed on the Pen for 3 months and during that time learned all about portion control, taking time to cook from scratch, meal plan (which I do religiously now!), prioritise myself, take time to exercise, not fear failure, and most importantly, I have discovered a self confidence I probably always had, but was hidden away. I'm currently following a great eating plan, taking fab supplements recommended by Sarah, taking the time to cleanse my body every now and then, embracing breathwork and cultivating an excitement and enthusiasm for exercise and a stillness in my being I felt I have always been looking for. I’m currently 13 st 6lbs and I still have some more to lose, but the Health Fairy is like a comfort blanket to me. Always there, every day with words of encouragement, ideas for healthy eating, motivating, caring and supporting. It's a way of life, not just a fad, and I would encourage anyone who needs any kind of help or support to reach out to The Health Fairy, you won’t regret it.
