INVOLVEMENT AS A SENDER

For Senders, the workers on short-term trips that are
local church is helpful to the worker and beneficial
much more to the Great Commission and the
than the place formation and training of a would-
where worship be Goer. While all church members
and fellowship need to be discipled, trained theo-
happen. That?s logically, and able to share the
because for the Goer the local
church is the command center and
support hub for all cross- cultural
work. It is where Goers are identi-
fied, trained, cared for, and com-
missioned to take the gospel to the
              nations (Acts 13:1-3; 2 Tim. 2:2; 3
John 5-8). This is a reality that car-
              ries great responsibility for Senders.
First, it means that if one is going to
be a faithful Sender, they must be
members of a local church. This is
the context in which all followers of
Christ are to receive care and
instruction in the Word of God,
              encourage and be encouraged by
              others (Gal. 6:1-5; Eph. 4:15- 21; 1
              Thess. 5:11).
              Second, Senders can educate other
church members on God?s plan for gospel clearly, cross-cultural work-
ers will require another set of skills
              the ?nations?. By doing this,
                                              that makes the communication of
individuals can be identified as these effective and not harmful in
having the character and skills their foreign context. It is important
              necessary for cross- cultural work.
These individuals can be encour- for Senders to know how their fel-
low members are being trained, as
aged to visit other cross- cultural
well as to understand the methods
                                              and philosophies that are popular
                                              among cross-cultural workers.
Third, and perhaps most familiar to
                                              everyone, is the necessity for
Senders to care for Goers. While fi-
nancial support is likely the easiest
and most accessible way to care for
                                              cross- cultural workers, there are
