    4.5.2 Nominal wages dynamics
    Real wages in Ukraine rose 6.9% y/y in September, slowing from 10.9% y/y growth in August, the State Statistics Service reported on Oct. 28. The average monthly nominal wage amounted to UAH14,239 ($533), growing from UAH13,997 in August, or 0.5% m/m in real terms.
The leaders for average monthly wages were the city of Kyiv (UAH20,658), and Ukrainian-controlled Donetsk (UAH15,148) and Kyiv (UAH14,678) regions. The largest average nominal wage increase was in hospitality and catering services (37.9% y/y), arts, sports and recreation (35.3% y/y), as well as information and telecommunication (26.6% y/y).
Within the industrial sector, the highest growth of nominal wages was in electricity and gas distribution (21.5% y/y), rubber and plastics production (21.0% y/y), pharmaceuticals (23.8% y/y) and machinery (17.0% y/y).
