The average salary in September 2021 in Ukraine was ₴14,239 ($540), according to the State Statistics Service. Compared to August 2021, the average wage increased by 1.7%, and for the last 12 months (relative to September 2020) by 18.7%. Real wages in September 2021 increased by 0.5% compared to August and compared to September last year by 6.9%.
From December 1, 2021, the minimum pension in Ukraine will increase due to an increase in the minimum wage, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on October 9. "The minimum pension in Ukraine will increase from December 1 due to the increase in the minimum wage. To ensure a timely increase in pensions, the government this week has increased the budget of the Pension Fund by UAH18.5bn," Shmyhal wrote on his Facebook page. As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine increased the Pension Fund budget by UAH18.5bn. This decision will allow for a planned increase in pensions due to the increase in the minimum wage to UAH6,500.
