apartments that experienced the highest demand were studio apartments (40-50 sqm), one-bedroom apartments (65-70 sqm), and two-bedroom apartments (70-85 sqm). In the rental market, demand has increased by 10-15%. Of which 70% of demand was taken up for the lease of residential property in newly constructed residential complexes.
The rental rates of all classifications of business centers in Kyiv have decreased by 7-8%, reported Interfax. A-class office space can be leased for $23-28 sqm per month, and B class space for $13-23 sqm. Since the beginning of 2021, the rental rate for prime properties has remained stable at $25 sqm, as the demand for new high-quality rental space remains high. The average vacancy rate in the office market has slightly increased since the beginning of the year and is 14.4% (up by 0.4 %).
Housing prices went up 16% yoy in hryvnia during the summer, reports the State Statistics Service. By comparison, annual hryvnia inflation runs at 11%. New, three-room apartments are up 16.3%. On the resale market, housing is up 17%. The biggest rise was for two-room apartments – up 18.4%. Over the last year, the hryvnia has gained about 6% against the dollar.

The Ukraine unit of France’s FM Logistic plans to invest up to $30 million to expand its warehouse park by one third, Sebastien Lardellier, CEO of FM Logistic Ukraine, tells Interfax Ukraine. The expansion would add 20,000 square meters to the existing 60,000 square meters of warehouse space in Dudarkiv, about 20 km north of Boryspil.
Good Wine plans to build a €100 million ‘food town,’ on a large Kyiv land
plot formerly occupied by a Tetra Pak packaging plant, reports the Ukrainian Journal. “The territory will cover several residential blocks in Kyiv,” Volodymyr Shapovalov, majority owner of Good Wine, said last week at the Kyiv International Economic Forum. “This is the unification of the urban area with parks and the unification of specialized shops, cafes and restaurants under one roof.” Good Wine has three high end liquor retail stores in Kyiv.
9.1.6 Agriculture sector news
Ukraine's agriculture ministry has decreased its forecast for the 2021 grain harvest to 80.25mn tonnes from the previous estimate of 80.63mn tonnes, the ministry's data showed on October 5.
The data showed that the ministry had decreased 2021 wheat crop outlook to 31.55mn tonnes from 32mn, while kept unchanged the forecast for corn and barley output at 37.1mn tonnes and 9.4mn tonnes respectively.
Ukraine has harvested almost 47mn tonnes of grain bunker weight from 67.3% of the sowing area. Farms completed the 2021 wheat harvest, threshing 32.2mn tonnes of the commodity in bunker weight.
The ministry said that despite a drop in the 2021 harvest forecast it had raised the 2021/22 grain export outlook to 61.45mn tonnes from 60.68mn due to higher shipments of wheat, which could reach
