Meanwhile, 9mo20 sales (including Mercedes-Benz and BMW) were down 13.9% y/y to 1.1mn units.
AvtoVAZ remained the market leader, with its share standing at 21.6% in 9mo20 (both the Lada and Niva brands). The AvtoVAZ/Renault/Nissan/Mitsubishi alliance controlled 36.4% of the market since the start of the year.
Sollers performed relatively well in September, with its UAZ sales increasing 7% y/y to 3,805 units and Ford Transit sales (consolidated by Sollers) rising 11% y/y to 1,569 units, respectively. In 9mo20, UAZ sales fell 18% y/y to 21,618 units, while Ford Transit sales were up 2% y/y to 8,816 units. Among other Russian producers, the LCV sales of GAZ fell 25% y/y to 31,747 units, which might be partly explained by component supply disruptions that the company is experiencing.
