5.1 External sector overview
Ukraine continues to run a balance of trade deficit which was $412mn in November, the last data available.
But Ukraine's deficit in foreign trade in goods and services plummeted by 86%, to $1.7bn last year, down from $12.1bn in 2019, reports the National Bank of Ukraine.
Ukraine’s deficit of foreign trade in goods dropped by more than half last year, to $6.1bn, from $14.7bn. By contrast, Ukraine’s surplus of foreign trade in services more than doubled, to $4.6bn, from $1.75bn.
