4.5.1 Labour market, unemployment dynamics
The labour market remains tight. The unemployment rate in January remained at a low of 4.7% down slightly from 4.9% in January 2019.
Net migration recovered to +286k in 2019, after 2018's sharp decline to 125k. The most significant acceleration came in the net migration balance with Ukraine, which increased to +65k from 15k in 2018, followed by Armenia (+36k vs. +14k) and Tajikistan (+48k vs. 31k)
