RDIF, Saudi Aramco still set to buy Novomet stake
e head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Kirill Dmitriev, has expressed con dence that the fund and Saudi Arabia’s Saudi Aramco will go ahead with their plan to buy a stake in Russian oil eld equipment producer Novomet.
“Certainly, there are already agreements that are absolutely clear with Novomet’s shareholders, including agreements with Rusnano,” Dmitriev told RIA Novosti. “ erefore, the transaction will be carried out with our Saudi partners – we have all con rmations in this regard.”
e CEO added that the purchase would be discussed at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), which will take place between June 5 and 8.

Rosneft re-elects
Germany’s Schroeder as
chairman
Shareholders at Russia’s state-owned Rosne have re-elected Gerhard Schroeder as the company’s chairman of the board. e former German chancellor also chairs the committee of shareholders at Nord Stream 2 AG, the operating company behind the Nord Stream 2 pipeline project.
Schroeder, who led Germany between 1998 and 2005, was rst nominated to Rosne ’s board in September 2017 – a move that prompted widespread criticism amid strained political ties between Berlin and Moscow.

Novatek forms JV with Sinopec, Gazprombank
Independent Russian gas producer Novatek has signed a heads of agreement (HoA) with state bank Gazprombank and China’s national oil concern Sinopec to form a joint venture to market LNG and natural gas supplies to end- users in China.
“Chinese companies are investing in the development of Novatek’s LNG projects
in the Arctic region of Russia. Creating a joint venture to trade LNG and natural gas in the domestic market of China not only facilitates sales of LNG produced, but also
opens up opportunities for investments in the development of the end-customer segment
in one of the largest and the fastest-growing gas and LNG market in the world,” Novatek Chairman Leonid Mikhelson noted in a statement. “ is represents another step in implementing our long-term strategy across the entire value chain from the extraction and liquefaction of natural gas to the sale of LNG to the customers”.

Gazprom Neft, Rosgeologia, Tomsk region sign tech pact
Russian state oil company Gazprom Ne , state geological surveying agency Rosgeologia and the government of the Tomsk region have signed a technology partnership agreement
at this year’s St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Gazprom Ne is implementing a major project in the Tomsk region to explore for hydrocarbon deposits in pre-Jurassic rock layers. rough this project, slated to cost 1.3 billion rubles (US$20 million) up until 2023, the company is aiming to add an extra 1.3 million tonnes per year (26,100 bpd) of oil production in the region by 2025.
Under the agreement, Gazprom Ne and Rosgeologia will consider the possibility to increasing the geographic scope of the project by developing additional exploration clusters in areas with high potential for discovering new elds. Tomsk authorities will in turn provide additional project support, as well
as helping to promote the project at a federal level.

Novatek, TMK sign co- operation pact
Russian private gas producer Novatek and TMK, one of the country’s leading steel pipe manufacturers, have signed a co-operation agreement. Under this accord, which will remain in force until 2023, the companies will look into ways of supply TMK casing and tubing production to Novatek.
“TMK is a reliable tubular products supplier for our projects,” Novatek CEO Leonid Mikhelson said in a statement. “ e memorandum raises our mutually bene cial cooperation to a new level and establishes
a transparent mechanism for pricing and production capacity reservation. is approach is especially important given our plans to implement large-scale projects in the
Arctic region and maximise the participation of Russian producers”.

Gazprom and Siemens
discuss prospects of
creating JV in Russia
A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Joe Kaeser, the CEO Siemens, took place today at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
e meeting participants discussed
the current issues and prospects of their cooperation, including the joint e orts aimed at organising the manufacture of innovative electrical equipment of Siemens in Russia so as to serve the needs of Gazprom’s generating facilities.
In this connection, the parties reviewed the implementation of the Agreement of Strategic Co-operation signed by Gazprom Energoholding and Siemens in May 2018 and the Memorandum of Intent signed in March 2019. It was noted that the working group that was formed under said documents is now preparing the design documentation to create a joint venture in Russia with the aim of producing vacuum generator switches and their components.

Lukoil to wrap up buyback scheme by June 20
Russian oil major Lukoil plans to nish its share buyback programme by June 20, the company’s vice president for economy and nance, Alexander Matytsyn, told reporters on June 6. June 20 is the scheduled date of Lukoil’s next annual general shareholders’ meeting.
Lukoil embarked on its latest buyback scheme worth US$3 billion in August last year.
