Centrifuge Operation
Centrifuging is the spinning down or separating of cells from
the liquid portion of the blood.
• Specimens also require aliquoting (dividing specimens
into separate containers)
• Aliquoting for most laboratory tests requiring serum or
plasma must be done within two hours or less
