“We photographed Kate in a Chinese restaurant because we were staying on theme with Ghostbusters, which was com- ing out at the time. I got there a little bit early and decided
to order some food to give
her some options and things to interact with once she got there. She sat down with the chef (who didn’t speak any English) and just started to play, and this shot just came about naturally. I love shoot- ing comedians because if you create the right environment for them, they come to life
as fellow creators. They are creative vessels like actors but actively participate in that creativity in a way most actors don’t. All I have to do is opti- mize the space and let them do their thing.”
