Now the question is.....do they have a sense of humour....or are the EGITS serious?

Letter printed in Edinburgh Evening News :-

After years of complaining, moaning and boring all my pals in the pub about the farcical. £1,000,000,000
vanity, white elephant destroying the most beautiful world heritage site, destroying small businesses all the
way along a route that will never ever see a tram....I've came round to their way of thinking!
Yes, I have now formed Edinburgh Generating Integrated Transport Systems ....EGITS....we shall have regular
monthly meetings at Harthill Service Station...its much more convenient than the city centre and parking is
        free.
I suggest our next project after completing the tram line from Edinburgh Airport to the Gogar roundabout
should be to restore Prices St Gardens to their former glory....The Nor Loch!!! Yes we should flood the gardens
and allow gondolas and pedillos to transport people the length of Princess St.
Of course we will need to enforce a strict one way system with no right turns or peddillos in the gondola lane
with cameras to fine selfish peddilo-drivers and of course the whole loch will be patrolled by parking
attendants on super charged jet skis to punish selfish peddilo-drivers by making them re-sit their peddilo-
        drivers test..
We would then of course demolish the eyesore of a castle and replace it with a more fitting building to our
beautiful city. I would suggest a multi story glass tourist attraction selling traditional plastic kilts and "see you
jimmie" ginger wigs and serving traditional Scottish Cuisine such as deep fried Mars Bars. Or we should at least
adorn the Castle in similar outdoor displays of plastic kilts etc that are promoted outside most of our
traditional shops in the High Street and Princess Street. This would also have the effect of diverting the
attention of the Planning Enforcement Officer before he notices that there are huge multiple poles the length
of Princes Street and cables fixed to Category A Listed Buildings.
And for that Arthur Seat waste of space...that will be bulldozed to make way for a super stadium for the
capitals most successful football team.......that's right Spartans.
IF you would like to support the EGITS campaign please send all donations to Tom King c/o Royal Edinburgh
        Hospital ....

27/08/20. Bolingoli confirmed as Celtic Player of the Year after going further in Europe than the rest of his
teammates put together......but the SFA award Celtic the 2020-21 SPL title as they think their title challenge
will be adversely affected by their fans having to wash regularly.

28/08/20. Interesting wee article from Andrew Marr:
“We were up in Scotland following the loss of my father, a lifelong and keen reader of these pages. There, the
difference in atmosphere over Covid is almost tangible compared with London. People are much more likely to
be masked and much more cautious. They listen attentively to the First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, and pride
themselves on Scotland’s lower death rates. The opinion polls confirm what general conversation suggests:
that Scotland is likely to leave the United Kingdom before the end of this parliament. The SNP may be having
feuds but they are self-confident, vigorous and optimistic. Unionism seems muffled and tired by comparison.
But if independence happens, the end of GB is going to be a more traumatic moment for England than today’s
ministers seem able to grasp. It’s going to feel much more significant than Brexit. The future of basic aspects
of identity, like the Union Flag, the name of the country, its defence system, and the scope of its territory will
be in question. Perhaps the PM grasps this. But his premiership may be defined by this and Unionists will need
a far cleverer and more passionate politics than anything we have seen so far from Boris Johnson — or indeed,
