Introduction
Welcome! If you are reading this you have begun a journey
– a Lenten journey. Lent (meaning “springtime”) is a season of
preparation. A time for Christian disciples of Jesus Christ to
prepare our hearts and minds to move from the dark night
(winter) of our souls to the light and new life made possible
through the death and resurrection of our Savior Jesus. This
journey takes us through challenging, soul-searching
introspection to admit where we have failed God, our sin. We
lay bare our hearts and lives before God in humble repentance.
As our journey continues through this Lenten Season, we
can expect to be transformed as we begin to grasp and
experience God’s grace and mercy toward us. We realize God’s
amazing love and forgiveness which encourages us to a deeper
connection with our Creator. We have been set free from the
grip of sin binding us to this world into living as Easter People,
Kin-dom People (living out our calling as “kin,” with all God’s
great creation).
May your journey be transformative as you encounter Jesus
in his ministry, passion, and love for you. Prepare to be set free
for joyful obedience in Jesus Christ our Lord! As the Apostle
John declared, “He must become more important. I must become
less important.” (NIV-R)
Prayers for Your Journey,
