Where is the Light?
Where is the Light?
I look at the world around me and wish I could close my eyes. I live in a place where wrong seems to rule over right,
And even the trees seem to whisper nothing but horrid lies. My hope is a soldier who has lost the will to fight.
Life is a knife that stabs rife with strife,
And all the world marches blindly to shrill beat of its fife.
I look, stare, and search for some form of right in all this wrong, But it is as futile as looking for light in black, polluted smog.
I ask myself what’s the point of staying strong,
In a world whose stench would be fouler than an unwashed hog. Sometimes I can find something light,
But I toss is aide because I want to find light that’s right.
Maybe I should just give up on searching.
A world sharper than a suit of thorns is not one worth fighting for. The negativity burrows into my head and I keep lurching,
In this world where greed fights greed in a never ending war. However there is only one way to escape here,
And I have no intention of traveling by bier.
Then my thoughts turn to you,
And the darkness is blasted away by a light dwarfing even the sun. The sound of your voice is like a fire warming me through.
When I’m with you, doubts, I have none.
Once one light opens your eyes,
It is easy to see all the light the world does comprise.
