Senior Parent Forum
An opportunity for senior parents to ask burning questions now that the process of narrowing choices, making applications, and seeking scholarships and nancial assistance is in full swing.
October
College Fair
Padua co-sponsors the largest College Fair in NE Ohio, more than 100 colleges and universities. Held at the Cuyahoga Valley Career Center, details become available mid-September.
Financial Aid Night
Financial Aid professionals present the process of qualifying for Federal Financial Aid, scholarships, etc.
Freshman Parent Night #1
Transition to high school, expectations of a college prepara- tory curriculum, how to study, etc. Receive an introduction to the Naviance / Family Connection program as a valuable tool for college and career planning.
January
Junior College Night
Our keystone session – our college counselors and local admissions professionals share important information to navigate the wealth of information pertaining to the college search process. From now until mid-January of the senior year is THE YEAR OF COLLEGE for those who will graduate in barely sixteen months from this night.
February
Freshman Parent Night #2
It’s never too early to start the college planning process. Parents will connect PreACT results to their student’s college goals.
Sophomore Career & College Planning Night
The start of college selection is determining a major which supports one’s ultimate career goals. Interpretation of PSAT results and the “career interest pro ler” in Family Connection as tools in this process will be reviewed. The importance of resume building as part of preparing the college application will be emphasized. The wealth of career resources available at Padua Franciscan will also be presented.
Junior Family Interviews
Each family has their own individual college planning session with their assigned counselor, setting goals for college visits and research, outlining a plan for college applications as a senior.
