Dominican Republic Mission Trip
Padua students and recent graduates, along with Director of Campus Ministry Deacon Matt Harley, traveled to the Dominican Republic with Fr. Bob Stec ’79 and Mission Possible to serve on a mission trip. They painted new houses to provide homes for families, moved new families into the community and spread gravel to help with drainage around the houses. For senior Emmalee Clark ’20, the best part of the trip was being able to see families move into the community. The trip made her grateful for all that she has and how blessed we all are. Senior Maria Rich ’20 said, “It was so inspiring to see the joy they took in every part of their day.” Again, this year the trip helped everyone see the blessings and gifts that God gives to us each day. God continues to pour his love into the hearts of the missionaries and the people served by Mission Possible.
Senior Reflection Day Recap
The Class of 2019 came together for Senior Reflection Day on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. They looked back on their four years together at Padua and read letters of advice that they wrote to themselves during their freshman year. Lastly, they celebrated Mass with Fr. Joe Mamich ’97 and received their own San Damiano crosses. Just as St. Francis rebuilt the Church of San Damiano, the seniors were challenged to go out from Padua and to “Rebuild the Church in the world.”
