Weight Room Renovation Our Weight Room renovation was completed in the spring of 2017, thanks to the generosity of our Helmet Club donors, Athletic Boosters, and the Football Program. • 3 treadmills • 3 ellipticals • 9 lifing stations built for young men & women • Plyometric boxes • Turf runwayAthletic Leadership Council Positive Coaching Alliance came to Padua on July 31 to work with the student-athlete leaders for all 20 teams. Te workshop focused on the student-athletes being leaders within their teams and school community. Tis group will continue to meet throughout the year to reinforce the concepts presented at the workshop.Girls Soccer Team Helps Alumna with Equipment for Her Team Te Lady Bruin Soccer Team donated soccer cleats, equipment and practice gear for Newport High School in Kentucky, in response to a request from Teresa Smolilo ’05, who is coaching at the school. Upon completing her play-ing career at the University of Cincinnati, Teresa accepted a teaching position in the Newport School District. Teresa helped start the high school soccer program this season, but many of the girls didn’t have the means to purchase equipment. So Teresa reached out to her alma mater for help. Padua’s head coach, Abbey Dotson, along with the players and parents, gathered the equipment during the pre-season and sent it to Coach Smolilo. Old weight room33
