Padua Franciscan High School has been providing instrumental instruction to area elementary schools for decades. Te part-nerships between Padua and our partner schools initially began under the direction of Mr. Wayne Miller (who passed away in 2013) at St. Charles Borromeo. Tis year, we have expanded the program to include instruction for band and orchestra through the talents of three music teachers. Mrs. Andrea (Fatica) Mikolajczyk ’02 and Mrs. Sara Marganski direct the band programs at St. Anthony of Padua, St. Albert the Great, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Columbkille, St. Ambrose and Incarnate Word Academy. Mrs. Carrie (Grifths) Woodie ’94 directs the orchestra programs at Incarnate Word Academy, St. Albert the Great, St. Columbkille and St. Ambrose.Students from these schools will join in several concerts hosted at Padua Franciscan throughout the year.Marching Bruins Perform at Walt Disney World Te Padua Franciscan Marching Bruins and Symphonic Band traveled to Disney World during Spring Break. Te Marching Bruins (which includes the instrumen-talists, Dance Team, Color Guard, and majorettes) performed in the Future World March in Epcot on March 28. Te following day, the Symphonic Band participated in an instrumental workshop which allowed musicians to work with a clinician. Te music played at the workshop was recorded and paired with a Disney animation medley. Te Symphonic Band performed in Festival Disney, a competitive event, at the Contemporary Resort on March 31. Tey received a rating of “Excellent” and also received third place in their division.Padua Expands Elementary Music Program35
