Above me the sun beats down. Through the autumn colored trees I look into the distance.
Over the hill the finish line tempts me. With all my being I sprinted up the intimidating inclination.
After three miles have passed, I am finally finished.

Fresh Cut Grass
The green grass looks good against the brown dirt.
The smell of fresh cut grass, and stadium hot dogs sends chills. Metal cleats are laced up and wooden bats are set out.
A little boy stands on the mound to throw the first pitch!
The announcer comes over the system to say “PLAY BALL!”
The first pitch is thrown, and SMACK. It’s out of here.
Running the bases, and sliding home just for fun.
Opening day is here.

Keep Going
Cross Country
Fifty Yard Line, Emily Koler `16
“Keep going, keep going” is what they all say. “Don’t let them stop you, they’ll get in your way!” “Keep going, keep going, and use all your might, Life isn’t worth it without a strong fight!”
Keep going, keep going, you’re almost there, I say to myself with pain I almost can’t bear. “Keep going, keep going, it’s almost the end!” Til I find in the road another bend.
“Keep going, keep going, you must succeed!”
I am not good enough just being me.
“Keep going, keep going, you cannot stop”
Push yourself even after you feel you might drop.
Keep going, keep going, don’t you slow down and be sure to show a smile, not a frown. Keep going, keep going, you shall not dare
to be any different, towards they’ll glare.
Stop running, stop crying, Stop all this I say
Life doesn’t exist for personalities to be slayed! Stop listening, stop caring what they all believe, Life is not solely about what you can achieve.

Brothers
Through thick and thin we’ve been together. I’ve always had your back, always and forever. This sport has brought us to defend,
Our brothers on this team until the end.
We will not be broken by any opponent, It’s our time to live in the moment.
We give everyday our all,
Just to be “The boys of fall.”
Everything we have is each other,
from now until the end we are brothers.
