Her Little Paradise
It was times like these that she sang to the sky And it answered her in purples and pinks, Swirling like candy, rings of events in her mind. She waited for the frost to slumber and the sun To wake, not patiently, but longingly, waited To hear the words like the excited beeping
Of a pinball machine , the beach the prize, The car a silver bullet gliding down the lane. She knew the building well, she had seen it Much before; the beginning and the end,
A skyscraper to her creative mind to hold. -
But when the motion stopped and the stairs Were climbed, racing the palm trees to the top, All she could think was of the sand dunes:
She unpacked all that she over packed.
The clicking of the green and flowing fields: She put on her frilled bathing suit.
Walking through the statued wonderland: Went dining by the ocean side
And by the time she settled and her hair dried Into crisps, it was time to leave with an extra Pocket full of seashells. The doors opened
To the creamsicle sky of Myrtle Beach
And with days already forming into bittersweet Memories, she lifted a hand to her lips
And kissed her own little paradise goodbye.

The Beach
The beautiful ocean blue is staring back at me
I feel the cool breeze brisk through my long hair The warm sand burns my feet
The hot sun beads onto my white face
I feel the cool splash of water hit my legs The warm air is heavy on my shoulders The calm mood relaxes me
And makes me never want to leave
The beauty of this creation
Leaves me speechless
Hoping to return soon,
I love being able to come back to the place I love most, The Beach
