Broken Mirror
Heart aches with every beat, Piercing her like shards of glass. Tears strolling down her face, Like rain on a window.
A beautiful melodious chorus
Of the soft sobs escaping from her lips. Memories of a once love
Flashing before her like movie scenes.
Prince charming he seemed to be,
To sweep her off her broken feet.
But yet dropped her like it was nothing,
And left her picking up her heart.
So fragile was she
Without the one she thought she knew,
To carry her off to the sunset.
A broken girl shredding herself with every step, Just to fix the wrong that he did.
Oh, poor little girl,
Did you learn nothing from falling for a beast? Pick yourself up and fight for what once was. Oh, silly little girl,
Your heart aches with every beat.

Respite, Emily Reeves `16 Listening
Listen to the words that aren’t spoken To the silence of your own heart
It will be a priceless token
One that will guide your path
Listen to the wind roar
The way it moves past the trees
Realize that all your heartache is no more There is always a new, fresh start
Listen to your elders
Don’t interrupt them
Think of them as your experienced mentors
The greatest gift you could give to them, is to listen
