“I’ve been able to concretely improve as an artist thanks to Padua’s art program. My breadth of skills has widened, and I’ve never been more con dent in using art to express myself. Aside from the academic side of it, I’ve become a family with my classmates and teachers over these four years. I am attending BGSU and majoring in Pre-Med, but intend to continue art for personal expression or possibly as a minor.”
Each year, Cleveland Institute of Art hosts the Scholastic Art Competition that recognizes creative achievement in area 7th- 12th grade students. e young artists compete for cash prizes, medals, and scholarship awards. A panel of local professional art- ists, art educators, writers, and writing educators jury the exhibit and select the awarded pieces from more than 1,800 entries. e art was on display in CIA’s Reinberger Gallery from January 16, 2018 to February 2, 2018.

“Padua’s art program has helped me in enormous ways. We dabble in a little bit of everything when it comes to art: drawing, painting, printmaking, and more. Since this program has given me such a strong foundation, I feel con dent pursuing an art-related career in the future. We have amazing teachers and all of the supplies necessary to make some pretty amazing things. I plan to study art in college, and thanks to this program, have already been accepted and awarded a scholarship to the Cleveland Institute of Art.”
