Over 7,000 runners register an- nually for a chance to run the
scenic St. George Marathon! The Marathon began in 1977 with only 57 participants and has grown to include 7,800 runners from all over the world. The community embraces the Marathon with hundreds of volunteers helping with the race every year.

• Marathon - Saturday,
October 5 (Race starts at 6:40am)

Popularity
In Runner’s World magazine, the St. George Marathon was listed in the annual reader’s survey as America’s most organized marathon. It has also been dubbed:
• The “Fastest Fall Marathon”
• One of the Most Scenic Marathons
• One of the “Cream of the Crop” Marathons
• One of four “Marathons to Build a Vacation Around” in the world
Due to the marathon’s popularity, participation is on a first come, first served basis.

Loyalty
Race participants return again and again to enjoy the small town feel, friendly volunteers, and well-orga- nized event.
Ten-Year-Club - There are now over 1,742 members in our 10- year runners club.
Twenty-Year-Runners - we now have 266 runners who have participated in the St. George Marathon at least 20 times.
Thirty-Year-Club - There are now 53 runners who have completed 30+ St. George Marathons.
