4 Thieves vinegaR - Said to have been used during the medieval period when
the Black Death was happening to prevent the catching of this dreaded disease.
malt vinegar, lavender, cloves, rosemary and Orange.
ciTRon – lemon.
ciTRon veRT - lime.
coRDiaL – A concentrated-flavour juice make from small amounts of sugar and
fruit, often citrus.
cReme – A liqueur with a higher sugar content.
DocToR’s FaLeRnum - A sweet syrup used in Caribbean and tropical drinks.
almond, Ginger, cloves, Grapefruit and camomile.
MS walker’S pOSSet – Based on a syrup coined by Kelsey Ramage and Iain
Griffiths of Trash Tiki. A blend of yogurt whey, egg yolks and honey.
ms. BeTTeR’s BiTTeRs miRacuLous FoameR – a vegan, and long-lasting,
alternative to egg white.
pampLemousse - Grapefruit.
RosoLio - A type of Italian liqueur derived from rose petals and other botanicals.
sheRBeT – From The Arabic شربة “sharba”, a sweet, tart syrup make from fruit
peel, sugar and fruit juice.
shRuB – used in in 17th century England where vinegar was used as an
alternative to citrus juices in the preservation of berries and other fruits for the
off-season. A sweetened vinegar-based syrup.
simpLe syRup - A combination of sugar and water. “Rich” can be used to refer
to a higher sugar content.
sTRuDeL – German word for “Whirlpool”, referring in this instance to a sweet
pastry containing apple, cinnamon, lemon & raisins.
WassaiL - A beverage of hot Mulled Cider, traditionally drunk as an integral
part of a Medieval English drinking ritual intended to ensure a good cider apple
harvest the following year. apple, nutmeg, cinnamon and cherry.
“WineD” – used to signify a product that has been altered with the addition of
Tartaric Acid, commonly found in Grapes.
Seltzer - Victorian term for soda or sparkling water.
