When will we get immortal bodies?
At the moment of Jesus’ second coming during the Rapture of the Church, at the last trump, the mortal
bodies of the saved will be transformed, and they will receive immortal bodies. 1 Corinthians 15:52-53
says, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the
dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption,
and this mortal must put on immortality.”
Why is Jesus coming back?
The Bible says that Jesus is coming back to reward the inhabitants of the earth and bring many back to
heaven with Him (Revelation 22:12). The Bible also says in Matthew 25:34, “Then the King will say to
those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world.’”

17.5 Let’s Personalize this Lesson…
Activity: Are you ready for Christ’s return? He could come anytime. There is not one event
that must now occur to signal His return. Everything is set in place. If you lived in 1945, why
do you supposed that Jesus could not have come then? How it different now?
