On the contrary, he is the Spirit of hope. Verse 24: “For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is
seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it
with patience.”
We know that patience is the fruit of the Spirit. And we know that patience is the fruit of hope.
Therefore, we know that the work of the Spirit is to inspire us with hope again and again IN our
groaning. He gives us the patience to endure to the end by reminding us and causing us to feel that the
suffering of this present time is not worth comparing to the glory that will be revealed to the children of
God. 112
Let us remind ourselves what Jesus said in John 14:1-3. He told His disciples (and all believers) that He
was going to Heaven to prepare a place for the faithful. We will all have dwelling places in the presence
of God almighty. He is preparing a city for us (Hebrews 11:16). And for all eternity we will behold his
glory (Johns 17:24).
We now understand fully the Progress of Redemption through the ages. We can clearly see what God
has done in providing us a way of salvation through the shedding of His own blood on the cross of
Calvary. He paid the price to purchase us out of the slave market of sin. All we must do is to receive
what He has accomplish, by faith. Then we can shout Hallelujah, I am His redeemed child!
In the Book of Revelation, chapter 5, John is viewing the majesty of Heaven. A scroll was presented by
an angel and questions, “Who is worthy to open this scroll?” No one in heaven or on earth nor under
the earth was able to open the scroll or break its seals. John wept. Then saw a Lamb who was slain
come and take hold of the scroll and break the seals and open the scroll. John heard the prayers of the
saints saying,
“Worthy are You to take thescroll and to break its seals; for You were slain
and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and

people and nation. “You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our
God; and they will reign upon the earth.”
Then John looked and heard the voices of millions of angels all around the throne of the Lamb speak out
with loud voices,
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and
might and honor and glory and blessing.”
“To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory
and dominion forever and ever.”
That scene gives us a good idea what our response will be when we have been totally redeemed by the
Lamb of God. Truly the Lamb of God, who was slain, is worthy of all our praise and adoration. The
