Study Section 15: Looking at the Clear Word
15.1 Connect.
We all have a tendency to exaggerate or embellish a story so that it favors our position. This is
only a manifestation of our sin nature. When you catch a fish, you may “stretch the truth” a bit
as far as its size! Today, we want to look and compare many verses presented in the Clear
Word Adventist Bible to the New American Standard Bible which is one of the most accurate
literal translations of the original languages we have today. We will explain the deviation to
you in the yellow area, so watch carefully as you examine how the Clear Word shifts the meaning of
various verses to fit errant doctrine.
15.2 Objectives:
1. The student should be able to read and compare verses that have been embellished or altered by
the Clear Word paraphrase Bible to what is presented in an excellent Greek translation of the same
text.
2. The student should be able to clearly see and understand how bias in doctrine can be a strong
motivation to alter God’s Word.
3. The student should be able to understand who Adventists think Jesus is.

Verses on the Sabbath
The Seventh Day Adventist Church teaches that the Saturday Sabbath is to be kept today and
that it is the proper day in which Church services are to be held, not on Sunday.
