Here are some quotes from Ellen G. White on salvation:

“We are never to rest in a satisfied condition, and cease to make advancement, saying “I am saved.” …
No sanctified tongue will be found uttering these words till Christ shall come…he should never date to
say, “I am saved.” … it is stating a falsehood to say, “I am saved.” No one is saved who is a transgressor
of the law of God.” (Mar 236)

“There are many who say, “I am saved; I am sanctified; I have nothing to do,
Jesus has done it all.” …Our faith, the hope we claim of one day obtaining
immortality, calls for the stretch of every muscle, and the strain of every
nerve. We cannot be saved in sin and in transgression of God’s law.” (YI,
               August 31, 1887, par. 8)

“All those who say, “I am saved! I am saved! But do not obey God’s
commandments, are resting their salvation on a false hope, a false
               foundation.” ST, December 28, 1891, par. 14)

               What does God’s Word say?

I John 4:16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives
in God, and God in them.

I John 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know
               that you have eternal life.

Hebrews 10:35 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded.

Conclusion: While the SDA church holds a high view of Scripture, the view they hold is only those
which are properly endorsed by Ellen G. White. In a sense, they view her as that person through
whom God enlightened and imparted the truth of Scriptures to the church.

The SDA church published their own version of the Bible in 1994 called The Clear Word. It is a
paraphrase of the Bible expanded for clarity. It is an interpretive text of the Bible written as a personal
devotional exercise by Jack Blanco, former dean of the School of Religion at Southern Adventist
University, to be an additional study tool and devotional alongside the Bible.

A paraphrase is a loose adaptation of the biblical text designed to help clarify what the original
says. The proper intention of any biblical paraphrase should be to remain faithful to the text and to
expand it, not alter it, and certainly not to contradict the original words. The Seventh Day Adventist
Bible, known as the Clear Word Bible, violates the biblical text by severely altering it in many places as
it restates Scripture in line with SDA bias. This paraphrase is dangerous and faulty. Just as the
Jehovah Witnesses’ New World Translators do, the writer CHANGES and ALTERS the Scripture to fit SDA
               doctrinal positions!

Let's take a look at a few examples of the profound bias: (from Christian Apologetics & Research
