them. Jesus’ knowledge is so intimate that an appropriate analogy for this knowledge is His relationship to His
            Father (10:15).

            Jesus makes it clear from a missiological perspective that He intends His church to be made of all kinds of people
            (10:16). All of Christ’s people will come to know Him in the same way; that is, they will enter through the same
            door. They will trust in His death for their salvation. He will be the shepherd of HIS people and they will all be
            one flock. God’s people must embrace Christ’s mission of worldwide evangelization – all God’s people brought
            into God’s kingdom.

            Where in the Old Testament do we find mention of the Feast of Dedication? We don’t, because this feast arose
            during the intertestamental period. As a celebration of the victory of the Maccabees over the Seleucids in the
             nd
            2  century BC. It became known as the Feast of Dedication and later the Feast of Lights, which is celebrated to
            this day as Hanukkah during the same period when we celebrate Christmas.
