The Lord empathized with the sorrow of His friends and share their anger at the ruthless oppression of death.
Death, after all, is not the invention of God, it’s the consequence of sin. How He responded to this latest
expression of evil illustrates two truths that weave together like warp and woof to create a beautiful tapestry of
grace:
First, when events don’t go as we think they should, God has a better time and a better way.
Second, God’s perspective is eternal, not temporal.
