P. 15

God based on Exodus 3:14. Also, it is suggesting a continual present existence of God. The Psalmist also
says that “For in your sight a thousand years are like yesterday that passes by, like a few hours of the
night” (Psa. 90:4; cf. 2 Pet. 3:8). From those passages we can see that God sees all time equally and
clearly. Further, God the Father sees events in time and acts in time (Gal. 4:4-5).

               Omnipresence (All-Present)
God the Father does not have a specific size or dimensions when referring to space, but He is present
everywhere. Everywhere means that His whole being is present in every space. Notice what Moses said
to the children of Israel, “The heavens, indeed the highest heavens, belong to the Lord your God, as
does the earth and everything in it” (Deut. 10:14 [CSB]). This was a clear reminded to them about “God’s
               lordship over space.”  God can be present to punish, sustain, bless, or to exercise wrath (Rev. 2:16;
                                  19
               19:15; Psa. 16:11; Col. 1:17).

               Unity
God the Father is divided in parts. Yet, God’s attributes are emphasized at different times. John says that
God is light (1 John 1:5) and then a little later, he says that He is love (1 John 4:8). The being of God is
not a collection of attributes added together neither are His attributes additions to His real being. He is
all of each attribute at every moment. Therefore, it is wrong to say that He is judging or angry at one
point of history, and loving at another. Equally, it is wrong to say that God is a God of justice in the Old
Testament and a God of love in the New Testament. “God is and always has been infinitely just and
infinitely loving as well, and everything he does in the Old Testament as well as in the New Testament is
                                                              20
completely consistent with both of those attributes.

               God’s sovereignty
God’s sovereignty means that He is king over His creation and is in complete control of it. On His
sovereignty, prophet Jeremiah says that nothing is too difficult for God (Jer. 32:17 [CSB]).

               Omnipotent
When we say that God is Omnipotent, we mean that God is all-powerful. He is able to do whatever He
wants according to His will. Prophet Isaiah notes that “Also, from today on I am he alone, and none can
rescue from my power. I act, and who can reverse it?” (Isa. 43:13 [CSB]).
