greater that we are, that we are his creatures who owe him worship and adoration, then this will be a

               very encouraging idea.”

               God can be Known Truly.
While we cannot know God fully, we can know true things about God. Scriptures tell us that God is love
(1 John 4:8), that God is light (1 John 1:5), that God is spirit (John 4:24), that God is just or righteous
(Rom. 3:26), etc. Our knowledge of these does not require us to have complete of full knowledge of
God. From the Scripture, we obtain the true knowledge of God. Despite our limitations, we should still
seek to know and understand God based on His revelation from Scripture.

God Himself can also be Known.
                                                            23
In Jeremiah 9:23-24, prophet Jeremiah says that “ ‘This is what the Lord says: The wise person should
not boast in his wisdom; the strong should not boast in his strength; the wealthy should not boast in his
wealth. But the one who boasts should boast in this: that he understands and knows me—that I am
                       24
the Lord, showing faithful love, justice, and righteousness on the earth, for I delight in these things. This
               is the Lord’s declaration” (CSB).

From the passage above, the source of joy and sense of importance ought not to be found in material
possessions, marriages, influence in the society, political influence, large following of us, but in the fact
               that we know God.

                                     3
Apostle John says that “ This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you
have sent—Jesus Christ” (John 17:3 [CSB]). Eternal life is not automatically given to us because we are
born from Christian homes. Eternal life cannot be possessed because we go to a congregation that teach
biblical doctrines. Neither is eternal life obtained through being good and giving toward charitable
organization. Eternal life is obtained by grace through faith in Christ Jesus. Also, the passage above
teaches us that knowing God the Son Himself is equal to having eternal life itself.

God is infinite and we are finite. Yet, though we will never able to fully grasp any single truth about God,
we can know things about God truly. And, we can know Him personally.

The Character of God (Incommunicable Attributes).

Incommunicable attributes answer the following question, how is God the Father different from us?
Since the character of God is so broad for our limited (finite) minds to understand, it is better to adopt
probably the most commonly used classification: the incommunicable and communicable attributes.
Most scholars or theologians have defined incommunicable attributes as those that God does “not share
               or communicate with us.”

While incommunicable attributes are those that God does not share, for example, unchangeableness,
the Bible teaches us that our change is not complete. This is so because there are “some aspects of our
characters” that do not change. These are individual identities, personality traits, and some long-term
                        15
               purposes.
