"The Companions of the Right Hand, what will be the Companions of the Right Hand? (They will
be) among Lote- trees without thorns, among Talh trees with flowers (or fruits) piled one above
another, in shade long-extended, by water flowing constantly, and fruit in abundance. Whose
season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden." - Al-Waqia (The Event) 56:27-39
"Gardens of Eternity, those which (Allah) Most Gracious has promised to His servants in the
Unseen; for His promise must (necessarily) come to pass." - Maryam (Mary) 19:61
o The Qur'an seems to differ on the amount of people in Heaven who will be represented from days of old,
and who will be represented from more modern times.
"In Gardens of Bliss: A number of people from those of old, and a few from those of later times."
- Al-Waqia (The Event) 56:12-14
"A multitude of those of old and a multitude of those of later time." - Al-Waqia (The Event)
56:40
o Heaven contains running waters and rivers of milk and wine and plenty to drink (without intoxication).
Wine and alcoholic drinks are forbidden by Allah on earth, but are allowed in Heaven. See also Surah
2:25.
"(Here is) a Parable of the Garden which the righteous are promised: in it are rivers of water
incorruptible; rivers of milk of which the taste never changes; rivers of wine, a joy to those who
drink; and rivers of honey pure and clear." - Muhammad 47:15a
"Goblets of silver are brought round for them, and beakers (as) of glass, (bright as) glass but
(made) of silver, which they (themselves) have measured to the measure (of their deeds)." - Al-
Insan (Man) 76:15-16
"No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication," - Al-Waqia (The
Event) 56:19 See also Surah 37:45-47.
o Heaven is a place of rest and relaxation.
"(They will be) on couches encrusted (with gold and precious stones), reclining on them, facing
each other." -
o Al-Waqia (The Event) 56:15-16
"And We shall remove from their hearts any lurking sense of injury; (they will be) brothers
(joyfully) facing each other on couches raised. There no sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor
shall they (ever) be asked to leave." - Al-Hijr (Stoneland) 15:47-48
"Reclining therein on raised couches, they shall find therein neither (the severe heat of) the sun
nor intense cold." - Al- Insan (Man) 76:13
o Beneficiaries of Heaven will be attended to by immortal youth.
"Round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness) with goblets, (shining) beakers,
and cups (filled) out of clear-flowing fountains" - Al-Waqia (The Event) 56:17-18 The concept of 72
virgins is
"And round about them will (serve) youths of perpetual (freshness); if thou seest them, thou
wouldst think them scattered pearls." - Al-Insan (Man) 76:19
o Sensual pleasures await the men who enter Heaven.
"And (there will be) Companions with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes, like unto pearls well-
guarded - a reward for the deeds of their past (life)." - Al-Waqia (The Event) 56:24. The chain of
transmission is declared as weak by some scholars, although there are others who consider the
Hadith as authentic. See also the following Surahs: 38:52; 55:56, 72-74; 78:33.
"We have created (their Companions) of special creation and made them virgin - pure (and
undefiled), lovers, equal in age." - Al-Waqia (The Event) 56:35-37
"And beside them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and
beauty), as if they were (delicate) eggs closely guarded." - As-Saaffat (Those Who Set The Ranks)
