P. 58

The unbeliever enjoys a delayed judgment. But with the Christian, Jesus is especially their Savior and
judgment is permanently removed from them.

The outward life of a person flows from his or her spirit. Those who discipline themselves to
follow Jesus understand that being a mature follower is hard work. We focus on living out the
truths we find in God’s Word as we develop a close relationship with Jesus. We try to delight God
as we are producing godliness in our life and in others.

                                      1. What connection do you see between Paul’s warnings about the last days
and what is happening in Africa today? Give examples.
                                      2. In what ways, will good spiritual training help you avoid unusual
                                         doctrines?
                                      3. Which is more difficult to maintain – spiritual or physical training? Why?
